Plenty! South County Players is a diverse group of men, women and children committed to bringing theater to the Vicksburg area. We have been active since 1995. We meet monthly, and currently produce two plays a year, and would like to do more! If you are a member of our group, please feel free to email the webmaster with photos and stories that you would like to contribute. If you are visiting -- welcome!
Each summer we present one production featuring a predominantly adult cast. In 2010, we performed the Noel Coward classic "Blithe Spirit." In 2011, we performed "Cotton Patch Gospel."
***NOTICE*** The 2012 performance of "Blithering Heights" has been cancelled.
During the summer we involve children from school age to adolescence in a full production. In 2010 we performed "The Wind in the Willows". In 2011, we performed "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."
For 2011, we plan to perform "Beauty and the Beast".
For 2009 we performed "Some Show About a Murder" at Indian Run Golf Course Clubhouse.
We have performed a radio version of Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" in the past, and are planning other radio plahys in the future.
In the past, we have performed theater workshops in conjunction with local Girl Scout troops, and children's theater workshops in the Vicksburg Public Library. Watch this space for future activities as they are announced.
